Intercontinental Exchange (ICE) Chair and CEO Jeff Sprecher referenced Pyth Network data while discussing oil perpetuals on the exchange operator’s third-quarter earnings call, bringing a crypto data network into a traditional derivatives discussion.

Perpetual contracts have no scheduled expiration. Pyth supplies market data to financial institutions, and Kraken’s oil perpetuals are among the markets built on Pyth Indices.

ICE, the parent company of the New York Stock Exchange, has separately agreed with Trade[XYZ] on a plan for a U.S.-regulated on-chain perpetuals market. Under the arrangement, Hyperliquid would provide infrastructure and Trade[XYZ] would design the products. The plan remains subject to regulatory approval.

ICE would operate the regulated venue and establish separate retail trading and clearing services, apart from its institutional futures operations. Sprecher has described perpetuals as a complement to ICE’s futures markets. The U.S.-regulated perpetuals plan is distinct from the oil-market discussion on the earnings call.
