NH Nonghyup Bank announced a memorandum of understanding with MoonPay and South Korean fintech company Finger to explore digital-asset services for cross-border remittances, corporate payments and settlement.

The planned proof of concept will study connections between digital assets and card merchant payment networks. The firms will also assess whether services in those areas could be commercially viable. They have not announced a launch date.

The work will bring together MoonPay’s global digital-asset network, the bank’s financial infrastructure and Finger’s financial platform technology.

The agreement adds to MoonPay’s South Korean activity. The company opened a Seoul subsidiary on Sept. 29 focused on overseas remittances, payments, settlement and the global distribution of digital assets. The unit is intended to work with Korean financial institutions and companies as MoonPay expands across Asia-Pacific, building on its South Korean expansion.
