Anthropic Reports 1,300% Revenue Growth as Compute Costs Rise
Revenue reached $16.3 billion in the six months through June, while compute and infrastructure expenses rose to $8.9 billion. Anthropic expects its revenue growth rate to decline over time.

Anthropic reported a 1,300% year-over-year increase in first-half revenue as its compute and infrastructure expenses also climbed, putting figures on both the company’s growth and the cost of serving demand for AI services.
Revenue reached $16.286 billion for the six months ended June 30, 2026, compared with $1.163 billion in the same period a year earlier. Compute and infrastructure expenses rose 283% to $8.945 billion.
Anthropic filed a preliminary prospectus on Oct. 26. No third-quarter revenue figure was included.
Anthropic also cautioned that its recent growth rate may not continue. “We expect our revenue growth rate to decline over time,” the company wrote in the prospectus.
The disclosure comes amid continued investment in computing infrastructure by major technology companies. Alphabet’s capital expenditures totaled $132 billion in the first nine months of 2026, up from $63.6 billion a year earlier. Amazon maintained its outlook for about $220 billion in cash capital expenditures for 2026. The latest capital spending disclosures from Alphabet and Amazon offer broader context for the buildout.
Those spending figures and Anthropic’s expense totals show the scale of investment behind AI services. They leave open how quickly demand for those services can justify the cost of expanding computing infrastructure.
