Grupo Televisa Details Funding Plan for $2 Billion AT&T Mexico Deal
Each partner plans to contribute $400 million in equity, with a five-year loan covering the remaining $1.2 billion. The deal remains subject to Mexican regulatory approvals.

Grupo Televisa outlined how it and Fintech Holdings Inc. plan to fund their acquisition of AT&T’s wireless business in Mexico, detailing the financing ahead of a target closing in the first quarter of 2027.
The partners plan to hold equal stakes. Each expects to contribute $400 million in equity, with a five-year nonrecourse loan covering the remaining $1.2 billion. Televisa does not expect further equity contributions for now.
Televisa expects the acquisition to strengthen its competitive position through fixed-mobile convergence, bundled offerings, cross-selling and operating synergies. The company does not plan to initially disclose AT&T Mexico’s standalone financial information while it works to convert its U.S. GAAP reporting to IFRS.
AT&T’s Oct. 13 sale agreement set $2 billion in cash due at closing, subject to adjustments and additional benefits. The transaction remains subject to necessary regulatory approvals in Mexico and is expected to close in the first quarter of 2027.
