Traders circulated a claim that Ambarella’s board selected NXP Semiconductors for exclusive sale talks after considering multiple offers. The assertion was traced to an alert citing unnamed people following the matter. Ambarella has not announced a transaction, and no offer price, terms or timetable were provided.

Ambarella’s Oct. 30 filing was a Schedule 13G/A, not a transaction filing. The claim includes no valuation figure. Ambarella launched X7 on Sept. 15 as its first standalone CVflow AI accelerator.

NXP’s potential interest in Ambarella had surfaced in July, with the possibility that those discussions might not produce a deal. Later takeover speculation involved Qualcomm on Oct. 9 and Nvidia on Oct. 22; neither was accompanied by a confirmed offer or agreement. The exclusive-talks claim would mark a more specific potential step than earlier expressions of interest, but the available details do not establish that exclusivity was agreed.
