Anthropic has filed for an initial public offering with the Securities and Exchange Commission, seeking a Nasdaq listing at up to $2 trillion, a valuation that could test public investors' appetite for AI companies.

The proposed ticker is ANT. Anthropic was valued at about $965 billion in its latest private financing round, less than half the potential public-market valuation. The company develops Claude, a family of AI models.

The potential $2 trillion market capitalization is more than twice the latest private valuation, putting investor acceptance of Anthropic's public-market worth at the center of the listing. Anthropic's substantial net losses may temper enthusiasm for such a valuation. IPO shares have often declined in their first months of trading, another factor that could affect expectations.

Investors will watch for pricing guidance from underwriters, as well as broader market conditions and regulatory developments that could influence the offering's timing and early trading on Nasdaq.
