Meta’s acquisition of Assured Robot Intelligence, a robotics AI startup, and its separate robotics research on planning, tactile sensing and dexterity show the scope of the company’s work.

Meta acquired Assured Robot Intelligence on May 1, 2026. The acquisition price was not disclosed.

Meta’s V-JEPA 2 research says fine-tuning with a small amount of robot data can enable planning. The research describes potential applications rather than a specific humanoid prototype.

Meta’s robotics work spans touch sensing, dexterity and human-robot interaction. Its research partnerships include GelSight and South Korea’s Wonik Robotics.
