Robinhood Says Early-Q4 Trading Volumes Tracked Within 5% of Q3 Peaks
Q3 equity and options volumes set records, while crypto notional volume fell 38% and crypto transaction-based revenue dropped 55% year over year.

Robinhood Markets’ equity, options and crypto trading volumes were tracking within 5% of their Q3 high-water marks early in Q4, CFO Shiv Verma said, offering an early read on activity after record equity and options quarters.
Verma spoke during Robinhood’s Oct. 27 earnings call, which began at 5 p.m. ET (21:00 UTC). “They are all trending to similar levels and early in the quarter, call it within 5% of the high-water mark in Q3,” he said. Spreads were tighter early in the quarter, Verma added, and the full-quarter take rate remained uncertain.
For the quarter ended Sept. 30, equity notional trading volume reached $992 billion, up 53% from a year earlier. Options trading totaled 905 million contracts, up 48%. Both were quarterly records. Crypto notional volume was $50 billion, down 38% year over year.
Net revenue rose 12% to $1.424 billion, while transaction-based revenue increased 19% to $867 million. Within that total, crypto transaction-based revenue fell 55% to $120 million.
