Abu Dhabi National Oil Co. (ADNOC) said ENERGYai would incorporate OpenAI models for seismic analysis, energy efficiency and real-time process monitoring. The announcement described intended uses for the system.
ADNOC announced the program on Nov. 4, 2024. AIQ developed ENERGYai with G42 and Microsoft.
On March 10, 2025, AIQ announced a three-year, $340 million contract to deploy ENERGYai and related artificial intelligence solutions across ADNOC’s upstream operations. The contract announcement covered ENERGYai and related solutions; it did not specify individual OpenAI models.
