China’s October factory surveys sent different signals, with RatingDog’s manufacturing gauge remaining above 50 while the official index fell below the threshold, showing a split between the two survey readings.

RatingDog’s China manufacturing purchasing managers’ index (PMI) eased to 52.0 in October from 52.1 in September. It topped market expectations of 51.6 and marked an 11th consecutive month of expansion.

The official manufacturing PMI, compiled by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS), fell to 49.3 from 50.1 in September. Readings above 50 indicate improving conditions from the previous month, while readings below 50 indicate worsening conditions.
