At an Oct. 8 White House ceremony, 马斯克 and 纳德拉 questioned Micron’s roughly 87% quarterly gross margin during a private discussion of tight memory-chip supply.

The six executives at the ceremony were 黄仁勋, 马斯克, Google co-founder 谢尔盖·布林, Microsoft CEO 纳德拉, AMD’s 苏姿丰 and Dell founder 迈克尔·戴尔.

马斯克 said he had never seen a supply-chain price shock like the one affecting memory chips. 纳德拉 said Micron had not committed enough money to expand capacity. Both objected to memory makers earning high profits while supplies were tight.

While 黄仁勋 was away for a White House interview, the other executives discussed computing resources. 马斯克 said OpenAI President Greg Brockman had kept pressing him for compute at a prior dinner. 布林 added that Brockman had asked him for compute as well. 马斯克 also accused Brockman of taking his charitable organization.

After returning, 黄仁勋 described a recent Delta flight on which the Wi-Fi did not work; he said he read about 7,000 emails. 迈克尔·戴尔 said he had one private jet and used Starlink for video calls while flying. 布林 also praised Starlink.

马斯克 joked that putting AI aboard a Delta flight would leave it isolated and unable to escape.
