Crypto.com plans to begin a phased winddown of its services in Hong Kong in February 2027, citing regulatory changes as its local virtual asset trading platform license application remains pending.

The company emailed Hong Kong users about the plan and said it will provide further arrangements and directions for withdrawing assets through email and its app.

The application seeks permission for Foris DAX HK Limited to operate a virtual asset trading platform in Hong Kong. The company filed it in February 2024, and it was still awaiting a final decision from Hong Kong's Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) as of Nov. 2, 2026.

While the review continues, Foris DAX HK Limited can continue providing services under a deemed-to-be-licensed status. That designation does not mean the firm has received a license; the SFC has not granted one.

Crypto.com's February 2027 start date marks the beginning of the planned phased exit. Further service arrangements and withdrawal instructions are due through the company's app and email.
