L3Harris Technologies said Monday, Nov. 2, that it received multiple U.S. Army production orders worth $121 million combined for its Low-Cost Data Radio (LOCODA) system to support command-and-control needs.

LOCODA is a vehicle communications system that uses existing installation kits and provides access to Army command-and-control applications through multiple transport options on one platform.

The system will support narrowband and wideband waveforms, anti-jam capabilities, low-probability-of-intercept and low-probability-of-detection waveforms, Mobile Ad Hoc Network Technology waveforms, and Single Channel Ground and Airborne Radio Systems.

“The program leverages existing installation kits and enables them to support new and emerging requirements, saving the Army time and money,” said Chris Aebli, president of Communications & Spectrum Dominance at L3Harris.

The company did not specify how many radios the orders cover, how the $121 million is divided among them or when deliveries are due.
