Inspire Medical Systems projects low-single-digit worldwide revenue growth in 2027, with management pointing to market expansion, a steadier coding environment, Project Horizon investment and battery replacement revenue.
Revenue for the quarter ended Sept. 30 was $206.695 million, down 7.9% from $224.501 million a year earlier. Management estimated that coding and reimbursement challenges reduced third-quarter results by about $30 million and would have an approximately $120 million impact for full-year 2026. The company has described those figures as estimates and noted uncertainty in quantifying the impact.
Inspire narrowed its 2026 revenue forecast to $850 million-$860 million, compared with its previous range of $835 million-$875 million. The company did not provide a specific percentage or dollar target for its 2027 growth outlook.
Project Horizon has created $30 million in incremental annualized capacity for growth initiatives, with patient flow as a focus. Inspire develops neurostimulation treatment for obstructive sleep apnea.
“Results suggest that, despite some lingering headwinds, there is greater comfort among implanting physicians with the current coding dynamic,” Chairman and CEO Tim Herbert said.
The Category I CPT codes for single-lead hypoglossal nerve stimulation are set to take effect Jan. 1, 2028; Inspire says they include its Inspire V system. The code numbers and exact wording have not been finalized.
