Binance’s Fines and Hack Losses Equal 56% of Estimated 2021-25 Pretax Profit
The $6.38 billion in estimated hack losses includes a 2019 theft and an October 2026 attack, both outside the 2021-25 profit window.

Binance’s estimated pretax profit for 2021 through 2025 was $19.2 billion, while its regulatory penalties and security losses total about $10.7 billion, or 56% of that amount.
The combined tally includes about $4.34 billion in fines and $6.38 billion in hack losses. The security figure reaches beyond the profit period, counting a 2019 theft and an attack in October 2026.
The fines include a $4.32 billion U.S. criminal settlement in 2023 and about $20 million in penalties from regulators in other countries.
The hack-loss estimate combines about $41 million in Bitcoin (BTC) stolen in 2019, when 7,000 BTC were taken, with an estimated $6.34 billion from the October 2026 attack. About $3 billion tied to that attack has been frozen on-chain, and some funds may still be recovered.
The exchange also used 7,500 BTC from SAFU, an amount described as about 9% of the loss.
Binance has not published consolidated group financial statements, so its estimated profit and the combined cost tally are not reported group-account figures.
