Trade[XYZ] Tops $500 Billion as ICE Plans Hyperliquid-Based U.S. Venue
Jeff Yan says independent operators above the protocol must meet U.S. regulatory requirements. The proposed venue assigns market operations and clearing to Intercontinental Exchange.

Trade[XYZ] has surpassed $500 billion in cumulative trading volume as its planned U.S. market with Intercontinental Exchange puts compliance duties for Hyperliquid-based derivatives operators in focus.
Hyperliquid Labs co-founder and CEO Jeff Yan said U.S. market access depends on independent businesses operating above the protocol meeting regulatory requirements. He made the comments in an Oct. 15 interview.
Hyperliquid’s HIP-3 upgrade enables third parties to deploy derivatives markets tied to stocks, gold and crude oil. Trade[XYZ] is a project in that ecosystem.
The planned U.S. venue follows an earlier ICE-Trade agreement. Intercontinental Exchange (ICE) would operate regulated markets and clearing, while Trade[XYZ] would design and implement the products. The companies plan to seek regulatory approvals, including approval for leveraged trading; the announcement gave no launch date.
The arrangement assigns separate roles to the venue operator, product builder and underlying blockchain infrastructure. Hyperliquid provides the infrastructure, while Yan’s comments place compliance responsibility on businesses operating above the protocol.
