TSMC Prices NT$14.8 Billion Green Bond Sale for Environmental Spending
The five-year bonds carry a 2.30% coupon and the 10-year bonds a 2.42% coupon, both higher than comparable rates in TSMC’s July sale.

Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company Limited (TSMC) priced NT$14.8 billion in green bonds Tuesday, setting five- and 10-year borrowing costs above its July sale as it funds green buildings and environmental spending.
The unsecured offering, priced Nov. 3, consists of NT$12.4 billion in five-year bonds with a fixed annual coupon of 2.30% and NT$2.4 billion in 10-year bonds with a 2.42% coupon. Both tranches were sold at face value, and each bond has a face value of NT$10 million. The coupon is the fixed annual interest rate paid to bondholders.
The new coupons are 0.27 percentage point higher for five-year debt and 0.32 percentage point higher for 10-year debt than TSMC’s July green bond sale, which totaled NT$18.5 billion and carried coupons of 2.03% and 2.10%, respectively.
The bonds do not include rights to convert into or exchange for shares, or to subscribe for equity. TSMC designated the proceeds for green buildings and other environmental spending.
