ADNOC Gas and TotalEnergies announced a five-year LNG supply deal on Nov. 3 for up to 1.6 million metric tons in total, with first deliveries expected in 2026, extending their supply relationship.

The volume cap covers the full contract term, not an annual delivery amount. The announced terms give no annual delivery breakdown, cargo schedule or pricing formula. The agreement follows a three-year LNG supply deal announced in May 2023 and scheduled to run through 2025.

The LNG will be supplied from Das Island. The Das Island terminal has annual capacity of 6 million metric tons and ships LNG to markets in Asia, Europe and elsewhere.

Stéphane Michel, president of gas, renewables and power at TotalEnergies, called the deal “another important milestone in our long-standing partnership.”

ADNOC launched a global LNG marketing and trading platform in July, combining LNG marketing activities from ADNOC Gas and XRG with ADNOC Trading’s capabilities. The platform targets 47 million metric tons per year of marketable LNG by 2035.

If trade through the Strait of Hormuz stays largely disrupted through year-end, global LNG supply could fall 3%, or nearly 20 billion cubic meters, in 2026.
