PTC Therapeutics Board Authorizes Up to $500 Million in Share Repurchases
Purchases may use several methods, including open-market transactions, and will depend on market conditions and management’s discretion.

PTC Therapeutics authorized a program to repurchase up to $500 million in common stock, giving management a new option to buy shares as market conditions allow. The company announced the authorization Nov. 3 at 7 a.m. ET (12 p.m. UTC).
PTC may buy shares in open-market transactions, including through pre-set trading plans, privately negotiated transactions and accelerated share repurchases. The authorization also permits other methods allowed under securities laws. The timing and amount of any purchases are at management’s discretion; the program sets no schedule or target share count.
Chief Executive Officer Matthew B. Klein, M.D., said the program reflects “our deep conviction in the strength of the Company and the prospects for near- and long-term growth.”
PTC had $2.127918 billion in cash, cash equivalents and marketable securities as of Sept. 30, 2026. Its common shares outstanding totaled 83,544,284 as of Oct. 27, 2026.
