Athena Secures $2.5 Million for AI-Assisted Real Estate Legal Work
Its affiliated law firm charges fixed fees per transaction, and Athena says attorney review time fell more than 70% in its first six weeks.

Athena Circle Corp. raised $2.5 million in pre-seed funding led by a16z Speedrun, backing a model that combines AI agents and attorneys for commercial real estate deals.
The company’s affiliated law firm charges a fixed fee for each transaction. Its agents compare agreements with deal terms, identify inconsistencies, prepare redlines and draft communications for clients. Attorneys review that work, make legal decisions and approve the deliverables.
Athena says its fees are typically 30% to 50% lower than what clients paid on recent deals. The company also says attorney review time fell by more than 70% during its first six weeks.
“Most legal AI companies sell tools to traditional law firms. We took a different approach,” said Cem Ucan, Athena’s co-founder and CEO.
Athena plans to expand into more property types, geographies and areas of transactional law.
