Société Générale has accepted $10 million in tokenized U.S. Treasuries as collateral on Canton Network, connecting blockchain-based securities transfers with the French bank’s established collateral operations.

Société Générale completed a controlled Canton transaction using DTCC-tokenized U.S. Treasuries as collateral. The transaction used the bank’s existing collateral systems.

In DTCC’s July 15 production event, tokenized Treasury entitlements moved on Canton to wallets associated with Société Générale and BNP Paribas before the securities were posted as collateral at CME.

The bank plans to support recurring collateral movements and explore repo financing.
