Unbuzzd Study Found Lower Estimated Alcohol Levels at Three Time Points
The small crossover study found no significant overall advantage on broader hangover or impairment assessments.

A study published in March 2026 found lower breathalyzer-based estimates of blood alcohol at three time points among participants who took Quantum BioPharma’s Unbuzzd formulation. The study found no significant overall advantage on broader hangover or impairment assessments.
A randomized crossover trial with double blinding and a placebo enrolled 26 healthy adults, 24 of whom finished both sessions. Participants consumed one gram of alcohol per kilogram of body weight in each session. Estimated peak blood alcohol concentrations ranged from 0.07% to 0.11%.
Estimated blood alcohol was significantly lower with the supplement at 30, 60 and 240 minutes. At 30 minutes, the reported averages were 0.0824% with the supplement and 0.0851% with placebo. The estimates came from breathalyzer readings rather than direct blood samples.
For 17 participants analyzed as a subgroup, the mean percentage drop in estimated blood alcohol over 30 minutes was 40.7% greater with Unbuzzd than with placebo. At four hours, average headache severity was 2.20 with the supplement and 6.72 with placebo on a scale of zero to 100. The supplement showed no statistically significant advantage on the full hangover severity scale or on the overall DRUID assessment of cognitive and motor performance.
Researchers tested FSD-F2R6, a formulation associated with Unbuzzd. “There were no serious adverse events,” wrote study authors Andrzej Chruscinski and Eric Hoskins.
