Finance of America Posts $110 Million Loss From Continuing Operations
Adjusted earnings were 28 cents per share, while funded volume rose 24% year over year to $748 million.

Finance of America Companies Inc. posted adjusted earnings of 28 cents per share for the third quarter ended Sept. 30, 2026, as higher benchmark rates cut net origination gains.
Finance of America provides home equity-based financing solutions for retirement and has capital markets and portfolio management operations. The company classifies adjusted earnings per share as a non-GAAP measure. Adjusted earnings were 84 cents per share in the second quarter and $1.33 in the third quarter of 2025.
The company recorded a $110 million net loss from continuing operations, equal to a basic loss of $5.24 per share. The loss primarily reflected $125 million in noncash fair-value adjustments. Adjusted net income was $6 million, down from $19 million in the second quarter and $33 million a year earlier.
Finance of America linked the lower adjusted earnings primarily to reduced net origination gains amid higher benchmark rates. CEO Graham A. Fleming said, “While higher interest rates drove near-term pressure on earnings, we believe this impact is temporary.” The company also made product and pricing changes to address the effects of higher rates.
Funded volume reached $748 million, up 24% from $603 million in the third quarter of 2025. Cash and cash equivalents totaled $118 million on Sept. 30, an increase of $33 million during the quarter.
Finance of America expected to complete a $60 million paydown of senior secured notes in November.
