Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) has begun initial shipments of its Helios AI systems and expects server revenue to double in 2027 as data center products take a larger role in its business.

Helios combines sixth-generation EPYC server processors and MI450-series Instinct graphics processors in rack-scale systems. Production is underway. Oracle, Microsoft Azure, Anthropic, OpenAI and Meta are among the platform’s customers.

AMD expects its Data Center segment to account for more than 80% of company revenue in 2027. That is broadly in line with AMD’s earlier outlook, which put the segment’s projected share at about 80%. The forecast describes a future revenue mix; the segment’s share of reported third-quarter revenue was about 64%.

Data Center brought in a record $8.5 billion in the third quarter, up 97% from a year earlier. AMD’s total revenue rose 45% to $13.38 billion, as detailed in its third-quarter results. The segment grew faster than the company overall during the period.

AMD also expects Data Center AI revenue to grow faster than it previously projected. Chair and CEO Lisa Su cited strong customer inquiry and favorable supply chain conditions in discussing the outlook.

AMD estimates that the total market for server CPUs will reach $220 billion by 2030. That is an estimate of the market’s size, rather than a forecast for AMD’s own sales. The company competes with Intel in server processors and with Nvidia in AI accelerators.

AMD’s next financial target is its fourth-quarter revenue forecast of about $17 billion.
