Voyager has managed the student program since 2021. HUNCH gives students projects for NASA and astronauts aboard the International Space Station.

Voyager Technologies secured a NASA contract valued at $35 million and spanning five years to oversee the agency’s HUNCH student program, extending a role it has held since 2021.

NASA’s High school students United with NASA to Create Hardware (HUNCH) program links schools with NASA centers. Students work on projects in areas such as hardware, software, design, prototyping and culinary work. Their projects produce items for NASA, including products intended for astronauts on the International Space Station.
Voyager announced a HUNCH contract renewal Jan. 8 without giving its value or duration. Its Nov. 4 announcement specified a five-year term and $35 million value.
“Human spaceflight operations run on skilled people, and we’re building that pipeline,” said Matt Magaña, Voyager’s president of Space, Defense & National Security.
