Penguin Solutions said Wednesday that private equity firm Transom Capital Group had agreed to buy its Cree LED business for cash as Penguin focuses on memory and AI data center infrastructure.
The purchase agreement was entered into Nov. 3, and Penguin announced it Nov. 4. The proposed sale has not closed.
On Nov. 2, Penguin introduced memory modules for AI inference and data center workloads, two days before the sale announcement.
