BP is increasing drilling across the Kirkuk fields in northern Iraq as part of a 25-year redevelopment effort intended to raise the area's combined oil production capacity.

The plan covers several fields and sets an initial output goal of 450,000 barrels per day. Their combined production now stands at approximately 300,000 to 328,000 barrels per day.

The work fits BP's broader effort to expand its regional operations and production capacity.
