IonQ completed its acquisition of cybersecurity company Elisity on Wednesday, adding Zero Trust technology to its security business in an all-stock transaction valued at up to $1.3 billion.

Terms of the acquisition agreement announced Oct. 12 include up to $150 million in performance-based earnouts tied to Elisity’s results.

IonQ said the acquisition is expected to strengthen its quantum security strategy. Its cybersecurity capabilities include post-quantum cryptography and quantum key distribution. Elisity’s IdentityGraph brings together identity, asset and risk information for access management involving users, devices, workloads and AI agents.

Separately, IonQ had previously signed a QuantumCT agreement providing more than 150 hours of quantum cloud computing. The Connecticut initiative works with universities, startups and research labs and aims to make the state a national hub for quantum research and development. In July 2026, QuantumCT received a $15 million grant from the National Science Foundation.
