The financing will also support entry into additional international markets. Pliant plans to use Model Context Protocol to open its payment infrastructure to AI agents such as Claude and ChatGPT.

Berlin-based Pliant announced it has raised $80 million in a Series C round to expand in the United States and Canada, enter additional international markets and accelerate its AI payments work.
Seaya Nova and Speedinvest led the round. Illuminate Financial, Motive Ventures and Molten Ventures also participated. Pliant plans to use the funding for North American expansion and to enter more international markets.
The company’s AI roadmap includes opening its business-to-business payment infrastructure to outside AI agents through Model Context Protocol (MCP). Claude and ChatGPT are among the agents named as examples.
Pliant says it has doubled its business for three consecutive years and surpassed $100 million in annual recurring revenue.
