Snap swung to a $56.5 million profit in third-quarter 2026 as revenue rose 14% to $1.72 billion, marking a return to net income after a loss a year earlier.

Revenue for the quarter ended Sept. 30 was $1.722 billion, compared with $1.507 billion in the same period of 2025. Net income was $56.498 million, versus a $103.541 million loss. Diluted earnings per share were 3 cents, compared with a 6-cent loss in the year-earlier quarter.

Adjusted EBITDA, a non-GAAP measure, increased 110% to $382.6 million from $182 million. The company’s non-GAAP calculation removes financing costs, taxes, depreciation and amortization, stock-based pay, related payroll taxes and selected other adjustments.

Snap monetizes primarily through advertising, with other revenue contributing a smaller share. Evan Spiegel, Snap co-founder and CEO, said, “AI is becoming a significant advantage for our teams and advertising platform.”

Average monthly active users reached 977 million, up 4% year over year, and average daily active users totaled 495 million, also up 4%. ARPU rose to $3.48 from $3.16 a year earlier.

Beginning in the first quarter of 2027, Snap plans to make global monthly active users its primary audience metric, replacing global daily active users. The company also plans to introduce a global monthly active user-based average revenue per user metric.
