Prudential Expects Japan Sales to Resume Feb. 1, 2027, and About $3.1B
The insurer expects about $3.1 billion in net proceeds from a $4.025 billion cash sale of its Brazil and Mexico businesses.

Prudential Financial management expects sales at its Japan businesses to resume Feb. 1, 2027, while the insurer expects about $3.1 billion in net proceeds from a Brazil and Mexico sale to fund acquisitions.
Prudential agreed to sell its insurance businesses in Brazil and Mexico for $4.025 billion in cash. CNP Seguradora would acquire the Brazil business, and CNP Assurances Holding would buy the Mexico unit. The proposed transaction covers 100% of both businesses, with the cash price subject to adjustments at closing.
Prudential plans to put the estimated proceeds toward acquisitions that fit its growth strategy. Management has not selected a particular business area for the purchases and says it will evaluate opportunities carefully.
The agreement requires regulatory approvals and is expected to close in the second half of 2027. The terms and expected timeline are detailed in TokenPost's earlier report on the Brazil and Mexico sale.
