RYAM Estimates Temiscaming Site Carrying Costs at $2 Million to $3 Million Monthly

The company shifted its expected review conclusion from the fourth quarter of 2026 to Q1 2027 after a 50% U.S. tariff on Canadian paperboard prompted production idling at the site.

Rayonier Advanced Materials now expects to conclude its strategic review in the first quarter of 2027, while its idled Temiscaming site carries estimated costs of $2 million to $3 million a month.

The target shifts from the fourth quarter of 2026. Production at Temiscaming was economically idled after the United States imposed a 50% tariff on Canadian paperboard. The monthly carrying costs are pressuring the company’s broader business and cash generation.

The review remains active, no outcome has been decided, and a sale remains a key alternative. RYAM is targeting a conclusion in Q1 2027.
