TRON DAO plans a new initiative against illicit activity after the T3 Financial Crime Unit ended operations, while Tether will continue working with TRM Labs and participate in Beacon Network, a real-time intelligence-sharing program.

TRON, Tether and TRM Labs formed T3 in September 2024, and Binance joined later. The unit focused on tracing and freezing Tether (USDT) linked to illicit activity on the TRON blockchain.

T3 worked with law enforcement agencies in 23 jurisdictions across five continents before its late-August 2026 closure.
