Nintendo sold 2.67 million Switch 2 consoles in its fiscal second quarter, down 41% from a year earlier, while maintaining its annual sales target after raising prices in several markets.

The quarter ended Sept. 30. Console sales also fell from 3.82 million in the preceding quarter. Nintendo raised Switch 2 prices in the United States, Canada and Japan during the September quarter, though the sales figures do not establish how much the increases affected demand.

Nintendo had also raised the console’s price in Japan earlier in the year. Memory chips used in consoles have been in short supply, while stronger demand for the components has driven their prices higher.

Quarterly revenue was $2.8 billion, below analysts’ average estimate. Net profit also missed expectations. Despite the lower console sales and earnings shortfalls, Nintendo kept its forecast for Switch 2 sales unchanged.

The company expects to sell 16.5 million Switch 2 consoles in the fiscal year ending March 2027.
