IMAX Corporation posted $174.6 million in third-quarter revenue, a 64% increase from a year earlier, as global box office revenue reached a quarterly record of $712 million. Adjusted diluted earnings were $2.21 per share, with both figures topping estimates.

The company released its results Thursday, Nov. 5. Blockbuster films across IMAX’s worldwide network drove the box office total, which was up 94% from the same quarter a year earlier.

Content Solutions revenue more than doubled to $94 million. Technology Products and Services revenue rose 28% to $77.3 million. Rental revenue helped soften the impact of fewer projection systems installed through sales agreements.

IMAX ended September with 1,820 commercial locations worldwide. Upcoming releases it highlighted include Dune: Part Three and Wandering Earth 3.
