US and Chinese economic officials discussed implementation of the Busan arrangement.

In its “READOUT: Secretary of the Treasury Scott Bessent’s Call with China’s Vice Premier He Lifeng” published on November 6, 2026, the US Department of the Treasury said Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent and United States Trade Representative Jameison Greer spoke with Chinese Vice Premier He Lifeng that day. The call covered bilateral economic relations and implementation of the Busan arrangement. The two US officials reaffirmed the value of direct and candid communication.

According to the Treasury, Bessent pressed China to fulfill its Busan commitments fully and immediately and expressed concern about recent Chinese actions. He said further progress required concrete results and that the United States would closely assess China’s implementation of the arrangement.

The Treasury also said Bessent reaffirmed the Trump Administration’s commitment to trade and economic policies that benefit American workers, farmers and businesses while strengthening US economic and national security.
