Dentsply Sirona Lowers 2026 EPS Outlook After Third-Quarter Sales Slide
Third-quarter sales declined 7.6% to $836 million, while adjusted earnings per share fell to $0.29. The company now expects about $3.5 billion in 2026 sales.

Dentsply Sirona lowered its 2026 adjusted earnings outlook after third-quarter sales and adjusted earnings fell from a year earlier, with the dental products maker now targeting $1.20 to $1.30 per share.
Net sales for the three months ended Sept. 30 totaled $836 million, down 7.6% from $904 million in the year-earlier quarter. Adjusted earnings per share fell 29.4% to $0.29 from $0.42. Adjusted EBITDA was $146 million, compared with $167 million a year earlier.
The company recorded a GAAP net loss of $2 million, or 1 cent per diluted share. Its net loss in the third quarter of 2025 was $427 million, or $2.14 per share.
Dentsply Sirona expects approximately $3.5 billion in 2026 sales. Its previous outlook, issued in August, called for $3.5 billion to $3.6 billion in sales and adjusted EPS of $1.40 to $1.50. The new EPS range excludes a one-time benefit of 17 cents per share from tariff refunds.
A revision to the company’s estimate for unrealized profit in inventory lifted net income by about $30 million, or 15 cents per share, in both the third quarter and first nine months of 2026. The revised estimate also provided a $39 million benefit to gross profit and adjusted EBITDA. The company does not expect an equivalent impact in future periods.
Sales varied across its businesses. Connected Technology Solutions generated $230 million, down 11%; Essential Dental Solutions brought in $343 million, down 4%; and Orthodontic and Implant Solutions recorded $171 million, down 16.6%. Wellspect Healthcare sales rose 10.1% to $92 million.
“We continued to make progress on our Return-to-Growth Action Plan in the third quarter despite challenging industry-wide conditions,” President and CEO Dan Scavilla said. The company announced its results Nov. 5 and scheduled its earnings call for 4:30 p.m. ET (9:30 p.m. UTC) that day.
