Amazon's third-quarter net sales rose 12% year over year to $201.9 billion, while Amazon Web Services sales climbed 39% to $46 billion. The results also showed a trailing 12-month free cash flow outflow of $42.4 billion through Sept. 30.

Amazon said AI investment drove much of the cash outflow. Its net purchases of property and equipment rose $94.8 billion from a year earlier. The company maintained its expectation of about $220 billion in cash capital expenditures in 2026.

“Our AWS investment in functionality and infrastructure is working,” Amazon President and CEO Andy Jassy said in the company's Oct. 29 results announcement.
