BlackLine Lowers 2026 Revenue Outlook to $759.5M-$761.5M

Longer-than-expected customer decisions and changing professional services expectations weighed on the outlook. Agentic AI consumption revenue has also been slower to materialize than expected.

BlackLine cut its 2026 revenue forecast to $759.5 million to $761.5 million, reflecting slower customer decisions, longer sales cycles and revised expectations for professional services.

The company is not counting on close rates to recover in the fourth quarter, reflecting customer caution. Third-quarter revenue came in at the low end of its range.

Platform annual recurring revenue (ARR) reached 23% of eligible ARR. BlackLine is targeting 25% for the full year, while platform-related consumption revenue has ramped more slowly than expected.

Management said platform uplift alone could come close to contributing 2% to growth in 2027. Consumption revenue from the company’s Agentic AI products has also been slower to materialize than expected.

BlackLine expects customer expansion, consumption revenue and reduced churn to help return net revenue retention to 109% to 110%.
