Gate has added a stock-trading feature that lets users borrow USDT for purchases or borrow eligible shares to sell short, bringing margin financing and short selling to its web service.

Users can use borrowed USDT to increase the funds available for stock purchases. They can also borrow eligible shares to sell short or hedge existing positions.

The trading interface marks stocks that support margin trading and shows permitted trade directions, margin requirements, amounts available for financed purchases or short sales, and indicative share-borrowing rates. Order confirmations, open orders and position pages display details of the trades.

Stock accounts also let users manage margin debt, review interest records, transfer USDT and set up automatic repayments. The feature is available on Gate’s website, with app support planned for version 8.43.0 and later.
