AI Demand Pushes Third-Quarter DRAM Revenue Near $200 Billion

DRAM bit shipments rose about 4% as buyers competed to secure supply amid rising prices.

Global DRAM revenue neared $200 billion in the third quarter of 2026, with AI accelerator and data-center demand fueling a price-led boom that outpaced shipments.

Third-quarter DRAM revenue was nearly five times its year-earlier level. Higher average selling prices were the main driver of the growth.

Buyers are competing to secure supply rather than bargain repeatedly over prices, as memory becomes a scarce, higher-value resource in the AI buildout. If prices keep climbing, suppliers may set new earnings records next quarter.
