Tesla Plans to Shift Texas Factory Capacity From Cybertruck to Cybercab
Cybercabs leaving the Texas plant are being assigned to Tesla’s Robotaxi fleet. Elon Musk has said most are expected to remain company-owned.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk said the automaker plans to wind down Cybertruck production at Gigafactory Texas around mid-2027, freeing factory capacity for increased Cybercab output.
Tesla’s year-end Cybercab delivery plans are a separate timeline from the planned factory shift. Cybercabs leaving the Texas plant are currently assigned to Tesla’s Robotaxi fleet.
Musk has said most Cybercabs are expected to remain company-owned and provide transportation as a service. The Cybertruck production wind-down is planned for around mid-2027 to make room for more Cybercab production.
