Solana Company plans to expand its Hong Kong business to tap growing tokenization demand.

The Hong Kong operation currently has fewer than 10 people. The Nasdaq-listed digital asset treasury company has made the city its Asia-Pacific headquarters and positions its local business as a digital asset infrastructure and services provider.

Joseph Chee, Solana Company's chairman and CEO, said tokenization is progressing much faster in the United States than in Hong Kong. He described many large financial institutions in Hong Kong as being at an early stage of considering or starting tokenization projects.

The company expects to assess the Hong Kong market in about six months, Chee said. If no major tokenization services provider has emerged by then, Solana Company may build a team to serve local banks. That hiring plan remains conditional on the market's development.

Hong Kong named Solana Company a “key enterprise” in October.
