Mount Logan Expects $6.5 Million Annualized FRE Gain From Deals
Management expects the transactions to begin contributing in the fourth quarter of 2026. Third-quarter FRE fell to $500,000 from $1.5 million in the previous quarter.

Mount Logan Capital Inc. expects transactions it has completed to add about $6.5 million in annualized FRE, with a meaningful contribution beginning in the fourth quarter of 2026, management said. The expected increase comes as the company’s FRE fell to $500,000 in the third quarter from $1.5 million in the second quarter.
Mount Logan said the AFA transaction could add about $230 million in assets under management. That would bring its interval fund platform to roughly $460 million, about twice its current size.
The company had third-quarter revenue of $12.9 million and a net loss of $3.7 million. One-time transaction costs and other nonrecurring items affected the results, which management described as a transition quarter.
Separately, Ability began directly originating multi-year guaranteed annuities in August after receiving an AM Best rating. Management cited early positive distribution momentum and said agent onboarding would take a couple of quarters.
