The Joint Corp. lowered its 2026 system-wide sales forecast on Nov. 5 to $508 million-$512 million, down from its previous range of $519 million-$552 million. The revised outlook follows results through the first nine months of the year and reflects pressure on consumer spending.

The company now expects comparable sales to decline 2.5%-3.5% for the year. Its previous forecast ranged from a 3% decline to a 3% increase, so the updated range points to a full-year decline. Comparable sales cover clinics open for at least 13 full months and exclude clinics that have closed.

The Joint kept its 2026 adjusted EBITDA forecast at $12.5 million-$13.5 million. President and CEO Sanjiv Razdan pointed to macroeconomic challenges, lower average monthly patient spending and fewer new patients as factors weighing on comparable sales.

For the quarter ended Sept. 30, system-wide sales totaled $123.3 million, down 3.1% from a year earlier. Comparable sales fell 1.9%, improving from a 2.8% decline in the second quarter. Revenue rose 1% to $13.6 million.

System-wide sales include sales at franchised clinics as well as company-owned or managed locations. Sales at franchised clinics are not recorded as The Joint’s revenue, so system-wide sales and company revenue measure different activity.

The Joint had 930 clinics at Sept. 30: 915 franchised locations and 15 company-owned or managed clinics. The company expects its clinic count at the end of 2026 to be about 50 below its year-end 2025 count as it works with franchise owners to close underperforming locations.
