Bitcoin Eyes New All-Time High by Mid-2025, Says Analyst

Crypto analyst Michael van de Poppe predicts Bitcoin could reach a new all-time high (ATH) within the next three months, citing macroeconomic indicators and historical trends. His projection is based on a chart shared by Julien Bittel, Head of Macro Research at Global Macro Investor (GMI), which reveals a strong correlation between Bitcoin’s price and the global M2 money supply.

According to the chart, which tracks data from early 2023, Bitcoin’s price action has closely mirrored fluctuations in M2 — a measure of the total money in circulation including cash, checking deposits, and easily convertible near money. Notably, earlier this year, Bitcoin experienced a sharp decline as M2 entered a bottoming phase. If this pattern persists, Van de Poppe believes Bitcoin is on track to break past its current ATH this quarter.

The analyst further suggests that a simultaneous surge in Bitcoin and M2 would signal broader macroeconomic shifts. These include a strengthening Chinese yuan against the U.S. dollar, a falling U.S. dollar index (DXY), and declining gold prices. Van de Poppe also expects this trend to ignite a rally in the altcoin market, potentially marking the start of a new bullish cycle for digital assets.

This forecast aligns with growing investor interest amid expectations of global monetary easing and renewed liquidity inflows. If Bitcoin follows M2's trajectory as in past cycles, the next few months could bring a pivotal breakout for the world’s largest cryptocurrency.

With Bitcoin already hovering near key resistance levels, traders and investors are watching the macro landscape closely. A continued uptick in M2 could provide the catalyst needed for Bitcoin to retest — and possibly exceed — its previous highs.
