REX-Osprey XRP ETF Set to Launch, Offering First U.S. Spot-Style Exposure

REX Shares, a U.S.-based ETF provider, has confirmed that the REX-Osprey XRP ETF (ticker: XRPR) will debut this week in partnership with Osprey Funds. This marks the first U.S. ETF to give investors spot-style exposure to XRP, despite the SEC still holding back on traditional spot Bitcoin ETFs.

Unlike conventional spot ETFs, the REX-Osprey product will not directly hold XRP. Instead, it will operate under the “40 Act” structure, meaning it can include a mix of XRP, cash, derivatives, and U.S. Treasuries. This design makes regulatory approval different. Such funds automatically become effective after 75 days unless the SEC intervenes, avoiding the lengthy approval hurdles of spot Bitcoin ETFs.

The launch comes as interest in XRP investment vehicles grows. Currently, products like the Teucrium 2x Long Daily XRP ETF and the Volatility Shares Trust XRP ETF (XRPI) already provide leveraged exposure. However, XRPR stands out as the only U.S. ETF designed to mimic spot exposure while maintaining a diversified structure.

The timing is notable, as investors await the SEC’s decision on several pending XRP ETFs. Franklin Templeton’s application, for example, has been delayed until November 14, fueling speculation that broader approval may be near. Meanwhile, XRP inflows have surged more than 200% ahead of these decisions, signaling strong demand.

By offering U.S. investors access to XRP in a regulated ETF wrapper, REX and Osprey are positioning themselves at the forefront of crypto asset management. While it isn’t a pure spot ETF, XRPR provides a unique entry point into XRP exposure, potentially paving the way for broader adoption of crypto-linked funds.
