WisdomTree Pushes Forward on Crypto Innovation Without Waiting for U.S. Legislation

WisdomTree is not waiting for Congress to finalize crypto regulations before advancing its digital asset strategy. Will Peck, the firm's head of digital assets, made clear that pending legislation like the Clarity Act is not a roadblock to progress. "We don't view it as a gatekeeper," he said, signaling confidence in the existing regulatory framework.

The Clarity Act, currently under congressional review, seeks to define clearer boundaries between the SEC and CFTC over digital asset oversight and classification. While many in the industry argue the bill is necessary to accelerate institutional crypto adoption, WisdomTree sees it differently. Peck noted that the SEC already has sufficient tools to support tokenized securities and fund markets, suggesting that innovation can thrive under current rules.

This forward-thinking approach has defined WisdomTree for years. Long before most traditional asset managers entered the space, the firm was building crypto and tokenization products. Today, it offers a spot Bitcoin ETF in the U.S. and a wide range of crypto exchange-traded products across European markets, where regulatory clarity and competition shaped the landscape earlier.

WisdomTree has also established a strong position in tokenized real-world assets, operating one of the largest tokenized money market funds available. The product has gained meaningful traction, with Peck describing strong product-market fit. A key milestone was securing SEC relief that enables continuous trading, effectively delivering instant settlement. This allows institutional investors to move seamlessly between U.S. dollars, stablecoins such as USDC, and the fund itself around the clock, eliminating traditional end-of-day processing delays.

Looking ahead, WisdomTree plans to expand its on-chain product lineup beyond money market funds to include ETFs and yield-generating instruments accessible directly through digital wallets. Despite ongoing market volatility, Peck described the firm's momentum as uninterrupted, reinforcing that regulatory waiting games are not part of their playbook.
