Wallet in Telegram Launches Native Perpetual Futures Trading Powered by Lighter.

Telegram's built-in crypto wallet has rolled out native perpetual futures trading directly inside the messaging app, powered exclusively by Lighter (LIT). The feature went live on April 2, 2026, allowing users to trade leveraged positions without downloading any external application or connecting a third-party wallet — everything happens seamlessly within Telegram's interface.

The launch arrives at a pivotal moment for decentralized derivatives. On-chain perpetual trading volumes surged more than 300% throughout 2025, with monthly activity regularly surpassing $1 trillion. Lighter itself recorded $65.47 billion in trading volume during March 2026 alone, placing it fourth among perpetual decentralized exchanges by monthly activity. Built on a custom zero-knowledge rollup on Ethereum, the platform cryptographically verifies every order match and liquidation on-chain, offering a transparent and trustless trading environment.

Through the new Perpetuals tab inside Wallet in Telegram, users gain access to over 50 markets covering cryptocurrencies, metals, equities, and commodities. Leverage of up to 50x is available, with positions starting from as little as $1 — lowering the barrier for retail traders entering decentralized finance. On the day of the announcement, Lighter's 24-hour trading volume hit $2.08 billion, with open interest at $663 million.

Lighter also announced its Partner Attribution Program, inviting external developers to integrate its perpetuals and spot trading infrastructure into their own applications, with referral credit flowing back to the original builder.

The LIT token responded with a 5% price increase following the news. Despite this momentum, Lighter still trails category leader Hyperliquid, which processed $178.23 billion in March 2026 — more than double the combined volume of its next three rivals.

What sets this integration apart is distribution. Wallet in Telegram reaches over 150 million users, a retail audience no competing DEX currently accesses through a native in-app experience. Whether that translates into sustained volume growth will define Lighter's trajectory in the months ahead.
