Canary Capital is launching its Staked TRX ETF on September 9, giving U.S. investors regulated exposure to TRON (TRX) alongside staking rewards. The fund will trade on the Cboe BZX Exchange under the ticker TRXS, while the TRON price has gained more than 1% over the past 24 hours.
Regulatory filings cleared the Canary Staked TRX ETF for listing and trading, with the final prospectus outlining how the product will track TRX while generating additional returns through participation in the TRON network’s proof-of-stake system.
The TRXS ETF carries a 1.10% management fee. Canary will cover ordinary operating expenses of up to $200,000 per fiscal year, although no management fee waiver has been announced.
Under normal market conditions, Canary Capital expects to stake approximately 90% of the fund’s TRX holdings. The prospectus indicates that staking-related fees are expected to equal 20% of rewards generated through the program, leaving the trust with the remaining 80%.
Canary Capital Group will also provide seed funding by purchasing 10,000 TRXS shares at $25 each, representing an initial investment of $250,000.
TRON traded near $0.339 ahead of the ETF launch after climbing roughly 1.5% in 24 hours. The new spot TRX ETF could broaden access to the cryptocurrency by allowing investors with traditional brokerage accounts to gain TRON exposure and benefit from staking without directly managing crypto wallets or token lockups.
TRON founder Justin Sun welcomed the institutional development, saying institutions had “finally arrived.” Canary Capital has previously introduced cryptocurrency investment products linked to assets including XRP, Litecoin and Solana.
Derivatives activity also increased ahead of the TRXS debut. Total TRX futures open interest rose more than 0.5% over four hours to approximately $263.39 million. Binance recorded an increase of more than 2.5%, while open interest also advanced on OKX and Bybit. Hyperliquid moved in the opposite direction, with TRX futures open interest falling nearly 2% over 24 hours.
The Canary Staked TRX ETF launch adds another regulated altcoin investment product to the U.S. market while bringing TRON staking rewards closer to traditional investors.
